The second of two required orientation seminars, taken during the fall of the sophomore year, this course extends the orientation to college life and study begun in COL 101. lt examines the philosophical and theologicaltensions inherent in a Christian liberalarts college, the skills and attitudes essential to success in college, and the intellectual perspectives that are nurtured through study of the liberal arts. Specifically, students explore a fundamental question of vocation: "What kind of education will I pursue?" and how their response to that question affects their goals planning, career planning, and academic program planning.
