Concepts of nursing process, evidence-based practice, collaboration, clinical decision making, lifelong learning, cultural competence, and legal and ethical practice. Requirements of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) in the context of professional ethics and patient privacy concerns. Opportunity to observe professional nurses in their practice settings. Prereq: Admission to Nursing program.
